Abstract:		 A tree-ring dating programme was commissioned on oak and softwood timbers from Lytham Hall. This building is an eighteenth-century manor house on the site of an earlier manor house and Benedictine Priory. The Hall is set in 30 hectares of mature parkland within which a further programme of sampling was undertaken on living oaks. The results identified that oak and pine timbers from the roof of the eighteenth-century building were datable by tree-ring dating techniques, with the earlier ranges to the west containing some oak timbers from the sixteenth century, and further oaks and pines from the mid-eighteenth century. Oaks that were two centuries old were identified from the park. This report archives the dendrochronological results.
