Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on land adjacent to 58 Park Lane, Snettisham, Norfolk in order to determine the archaeological implications of the planned redevelopment of the site. The site lay in an archaeologically sensitive location close to a previously investigated Roman villa. A single ten metre long trench revealed a medieval pit and a gully indicative of activity on the hillside a this period. There was no evidence that the nearby Roman villa extended into the proposed development site. Finds consisted of medieval and modern pottery, ceramic building material, clay pipe, oyster shell and modern glass and iron. |
