Abstract:
An archaeological watching brief was carried out at Church Farm Cottage, Climping, during the groundworks for an extension on the east side of the property. During the excavations of the footings, two features both of a modern date were noted, the foundations of a flint wall and a service trench, no features of an earlier date were noted. The earliest artifacts recovered from this watching brief date from the 13th century through to the 17th century. It is likely that all evidence for any associated activity was removed during the rebuilding of the house in the late 19th century.
