Abstract: |
Watching brief on a small 3 x 5m extension on the NE end of an 18th century brick house, located just within the north bailey ditch of the castle. 0.5m of modern material associated with a modern patio was removed onto garden soil over natural chalky boulder clay and modern rubble at the north end behind a retaining wall for the patio against the ditch. No archaeological features were observed and all finds were post-med and modern. |
