The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Archaeological excavation in advance of building extension to Ford Place Nursing Home, Thetford. Iron Age activity discovered in the form of pits and a 'structured' deposit within a linear feature. The deposit contained a partial head burial, numerous pottery sherds, butchered animal bone, boar tusk, Red deer antler and wing bones from a falcon. Radiocarbon dating of carbonised grain gave a date of around 130BC. Two medieval pits and a ditch also discovered. Elements of formal 18th century gardens which served the earlier house of James Mingay K.C. (152-1812) also found, along with two partlu intact culverts.
