Abstract:		 This Heritage Statement has been prepared to inform a planning application for a proposed residential development at St Michael's Garden's, South Petherton, Somerset. Consultation was undertaken with the Somerset Historic Environment Record and Somerset Archives and Record Office for the provision of data for this report. The site is considered to be of low archaeological potential and significance. Although the wider area in which the site is located may be said to have known archaeological significance including Prehistoric, Roman and Saxon remains, the site and its immediate environs are not considered to be archaeologically sensitive. In the light of the low potential and significance of the site no further archaeological investigation is proposed.
