Abstract: |
A trial trench evaluation and watching brief at 96 Mill Lane, Earl Shilton, Leicestershire resulted in the discovery of a broad and shallow ditch, dated to the Iron Age on the basis of three sherds of pottery found in the fill. The ditch may define the west side of a middle to late Iron Age enclosure found during previous work on the opposite side of Mill Lane. The other four trenches (all located in the southern part of the site) excavated as part of the evaluation were all devoid of significant archaeological remains. |
