Abstract: |
A watching brief monitoring the excavation of footings for terraced houses on land south of Manor Farm, Wereham, Norfolk. The site lies in an area of archaeological potential with the NHER describing it as a possible undated cemetery. Second hand information suggests that human skeltal remains were removed from the site in the past. However, a recent evaluation produced no human remains in the excavated areas. Instead, late Saxon features and a medieval pit were recorded. The current investigation revealed three large pits and a possible pit or linear of uncertain date. |
