Abstract: |
In September-November 2011 a watching brief was carried out at Fosse House, Ermine Close, St Albans, Hertfordshire during the construction of two extensions to the southeast side of Fosse House. The works revealed that the natural soils of the site were truncated and that the site is now largely built-up with made-ground. This is thought to have occurred during the initial construction of Fosse House. No significant archaeological finds, features or deposits were observed. |
