Abstract: |
An archaelogical evaluation was carried out by GUARD Archaeology Limited, on behalf of Scottish Coal, on an area proposed for the continued working of mining operations to the south of Mains Farm and Moat Farm to the east of Devonburn, South Lanarkshire. The trial trench evaluation comprised 5% of the total extraction area proposed for development. Two possible archaeological features were encountered during the evaluation., these being a single posthole of unknown date at the south of Area C and the base of a cultivation furrow in Area A |
