In April 2006, North Pennines Archaeology Ltd was commissioned by Darren Ward of Red Raven Design on behalf of his client to undertake an archaeological desk study and site visit in advance of a proposed redevelopment of land at Middle Farm, Tallentire, Cumbria. The results of this assessment was that a programme of archaeological evaluation be undertaken in the form of strategically positioned trenches.
