Abstract: |
The evaluation was carried out prior to the construction of a sewer that will form part of the Boddington Gardens Flood Alleviation Scheme. In the area designated for the site compound, two early to middle Iron Age pits were identified. The pits contained sherds of hand-built Iron Age pottery from a variety of vessels, a small stone bead and a small assemblage of animal bone and charred cereal grain. No archaeological remains were encountered in the trenches positioned on the route of the proposed pipeline. |
