Abstract: |
A watching brief was kept on 20 March 2013 during the excavation of a trench for a new transformer pole on an overhead power line near the McLeod Centre and some 130m W of Iona Abbey. The large pole trench cut through mostly materials disturbed when the original pole was installed whereas a smaller trench for a cable joint cut through a thin layer of topsoil which sat directly on glacial till. Nothing of archaeological significance was found. |
