Abstract: |
During the months of April/May/June 2009 a watching brief was carried out at All Saints Church, Milton Keynes Village, for the construction of a new North Porch and the provision of new toilet facilities including wheel chair access, as well as drainage runs and new soakaway. Throughout the excavation a total of 80 articulated/partially articulated Christian burials were excavated all running W-E in an extended, supine position, as well as high quantities of disarticulated human remains. Further significant finds were Roman pottery, and a deposit containing slag and daub pointing to Roman settlement activity within the area. |
