Abstract:		 Archaeological desk based assessment of land to the east of the Selby Canal and north of Denison Road. There is no direct evidence for prehistoric or Roman activity within the study area, but the presence of Roman activity in the town, close to the River Ouse (just over 1km to the north-west), indicates the potential to exist.
