Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief maintained during groundworks ahead of the construction of a free range laying unit at Cat Babbleton Farm, North Yorkshire, identified a pit of 18th to 19th century date. Unstratified Romano-British pottery and prehistoric flint work was also recovered indicating low level human activity in the vicinity of the site from the prehistoric period onwards.
