Abstract: |
A geophysical (gradiometer) survey was undertaken on land at Knabs Ridge, near Harrogate in advance of a proposed wind farm development, covering nine areas. Anomalies possibly indicating a ditched trackway or enclosure were detected together with sub-circular and curvilinear soil-filled features of uncertain origin. Weak anomalies possibly reflecting remains of ridge and furrow cultivation were detected, with additional earthworks observed in unsurveyed areas of the field, probably associated with the former Knabs Ridge farmstead. |
