Abstract: |
A geophysical (magnetometer) survey covering approximately 12 hectares was carried out on the north-eastern edge of Hucknall to inform the determination of an outline planning application for residential and associated development. The survey has identified anomalies indicative of land drains, sub-surface pipes/drains and recent agricultural activity. No anomalies of obvious archaeological potential have been identified although there is a broad area of magnetic disturbance for which a definite origin is unclear. However, on balance this is considered likely to be of modern origin. On the basis of the geophysical survey the archaeological potential of the site is considered to be low. |
