Abstract:
Stratascan were commissioned by Birmingham Archaeology to undertake a geophysical survey of an area outlined for development as a bypass. The geophysical survey undertaken outside Rugeley, Staffordshire, was successful in locating a number of anomalies of possible archaeological origin. Possible pits were located in both the magnetometer and resistance data. Large high and low resistance linear anomalies may indicate the presence of ditches and banks to the western limits of the survey area. Former agricultural activity is evident in both data sets.
