Abstract:		 Hall I' Th' Wood is a timber-framed hall and cross-wing structure with two later stone extensions. Dendrochronological analysis was undertaken on 47 timbers associated with these three major structural elements. Seven timbers from the hall crossmatched to produce a tree-ring chronology dated to the period AD 1467-1569. A felling date range of AD 1578-1622 is indicated for the five timbers thought to be associated with the primary phase, suggesting a late-sixteenth century or early-seventeenth century construction date for the hall. The two other dated timbers, thought to be associated with later modification or repair phases, were felled after AD 1563 and after AD 1579 respectively. No dating evidence was produced for timber elements of the two stone extensions and no re-used timbers were identified by the analysis.
