Abstract:		 Northamptonshire Archaeology undertook a watching brief at Main Street, Thorpe-by-Water, Rutland between November 2011 and March 2012. The work was carried out during the installation of a new water main and associated household connections by Anglian Water Services. A variety of modern layers were encountered but no deposits of antiquity, archaeological features or finds that predated the 20th century were found.
