Abstract: |
24 trial trenches (Trenches 1-24), each c. 50m x 1.70m were excavated between 28 November and 13 December 2013. Some were sited to test geophysical anomalies, the remainder being 'judgement' trenches. Archaeological remains of note recorded in the south-eastern portion of the site in Trench 19. Artefactual material indicates occupation of a possible farmstead of 17th to 18th century date. Two features recorded in Trench 21, in the south-western part of the site, were probably medieval or pre-medieval date, possibly prehistoric. |
