Abstract: |
Building record of 1915 power house and accumulator tower built during WW1 to power cordite presses using hydraulic power. In 1951 the engine room and accumulator pump house and tower were converted to workshops and washrooms, removing important fixtures. The boilers were removed once the facility closed in 1991. The floors were relaid in 1951 removing evidence for the weight-loaded accumulator that regulated water pressure in the hydraulic system. |
