Abstract:		 AOC Archaeology were commissioned to undertake a level 2 historic building survey of a barn to the north-west of Rudchester Manor. The barn was probably constructed at the same time as the manor house was extended in the late 18th/ early 19th century. It appears to have been constructed with stone from the Roman fort of Vindobala and the associated Roman remains in its immediate vicinity. Inside the barn is a large stone with tooling marks which also appears to be Roman. The barn itself was probably used as a threshing barn. The recording included a drawn record, primarily comprising measured plans, and a photographic record.
