Abstract:		 In January 2013 Archaeological Research Services Ltd were commissioned by Northumbrian Water Ltd to undertake an archaeological watching brief at Kirkwhelpington in Northumberland. The watching brief involved the monitoring of groundworks associated with the renewal of water main infrastructure around the village. The service trenches were dug through various layers of road makeup and made ground. Some of the trenches were dug in to the natural, undisturbed clay or bedrock. The Watching Brief did not reveal any archaeological finds or features.
