Abstract:		 A medieval wayside cross in St Buryan parish in west Cornwall, had become loose in its base, probably as a result of the activities of contractors working in the area. The cross was stabilised. In the course of work it was discovered that when the cross had been originally restored in the 1950s, it had been mounted on a gatepost.
