Abstract:		 Perth and Kinross Council commissioned Alder Archaeology to undertake an archaeological watching brief on the site of a proposed new substation at Carpenter Street, Perth. The proposed development area is a shrubbery beside a car park at Carpenter Street, centred on NGR NO 1172 2384. The site lay within the area near the cemetery of the Blackfriars monastery. No evidence of the cemetery was found as the site had been filled with imported soil for the shrubbery. A wall of a 19th-century building was uncovered.
