Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring of groundworks along with excavation of an additional four trenches was undertaken to establish the presence, or otherwise, of remains relating to the 18th century Stewartfield House. No remains of archaeological significance were identified. It was evident that development throughout the 20th century had significantly truncated the monitored area to the level of geological subsoil and removed any sub-surface remains of the structure.
