Abstract: |
ArcHeritage was commissioned by Arcus Renewable Energy Consulting Ltd. to monitor groundworks on undisturbed ground associated with the erection of a wind turbine at Ryder Point, Brassington, Derbyshire. The development scheme comprised the construction of two wind turbines, however following consultation from Arcus Renewable Energy Consulting Ltd., it was determined that only the groundworks around Turbine 1 required archaeological monitoring. This was due to the fact that Turbine 2 was location on a spoil bund and was not anticipated to break previously undisturbed ground. The works were required by Derbyshire County Council (DCC) as a condition of planning consent. The work was undertaken in line with a Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI) and according to the guidance of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA 2014). The watching brief took place intermittently between throughout April 2015. |
