Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 4.8 hectares of arable farmland. Linear anomalies of possible archaeological origin have been identified, however no features of probable archaeological origin have been identified despite the potential for Iron Age and Roman remains. A number of possible backfilled pits may be archaeological or natural in origin. Former field boundaries and evidence of ridge and furrow and modern ploughing indicate the site has a more recent agricultural past. The remaining features are modern in origin and include magnetic disturbance from nearby ferrous metal objects and magnetic spikes which are likely to be modern rubbish. |
