Abstract: |
An archaeological field evaluation of a site for proposed redevelopment, was undertaken. Six trial trenches were examined. Beneath modern disturbance, evidence for probable medieval garden soils was identified, together with the fragmentary remains of a stone structure of post-medieval or later date. Of note was a small dump of 19th century kiln waste, comprising fragments of saggars and biscuit fired pottery from the Derby Crown Porcelain Company Ltd. No other significant archaeological features were identified. [Au(adp)] |
