Abstract:		 An archaeological fieldwalking survey was carried out by the University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) for land at Markfield Road, Ratby, Leicestershire (SK 506 064). The survey was commissioned by Cawrey Ltd. in advance of the proposed development of the land for new housing. Ground conditions were at the limits of suitability for fieldwalking and the crop obscured the ground surface in some parts of the fields. The fieldwalking survey recovered two medieval pottery sherds and a low level scatter of post-medieval pottery, in addition to numerous modern sherds, indicative of manuring practices in the modern period. The site archive will be held by Leicestershire Museums Service under the Accession no: X.A81.2014.
