Abstract:		 Eight trial trenches targeted on geophysical anomalies on the south side of Thorney Road. The evaluation only revealed natural deposits of sand and gravel directly underneath topsoil. The geophysical anomalies were not present as archaeological features but were probably due to localised variations in the natural.
