Abstract: |
A historic building photographic survey was undertaken of a former Methodist chapel school room, at Lower Moor Road, Coleorton, Leicestershire on the 4th of February 2013 on behalf of Mr J Heathcote. The works comprised the written description and photographic recording of the building, making use of survey drawings independently commissioned by the client. The works were undertaken as defined by a Written Scheme of Investigation produced by Midland Archaeological Services (MAS) and approved by the Senior Planning Archaeologist (SPA) on behalf of North West Leicestershire District Council. The building is a two-storey rectangular building with a slate roof. Though the building is now open inside, the building appears to have originally had an upper floor, possibly a gallery. There was also formerly a lean-to projecting from the south-east elevation. The building has been completely stripped internally. There is an inset date stone inscribed with 'Primitive Methodist Chapel 1830' on the front of the chapel. |
