Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by PCA upon Raleigh Green, MoD, Whitehall, London SW1A 2AL. The works involved monitoring the hand excavation of a new service trench across the Green and was undertaken between the 18th and 20th of October 2016. The earliest deposit encountered was a layer of made ground most probably associated with the construction of the MoD buildings between 1938 and 1959. At only 0.60m the trench was not deep enough to reach any potential underlying archaeological horizons. |
