Abstract:		 The Village Hall is immediately east of St Mary's Church in the historic core of Peldon. Prior to the demolition of the Hall and the building of a replacement, an evaluation by one trench (1.8m wide, 15m long) uncovered the brick footings of the former National School (built 1800s, demolished 1960s). There were no finds or features of archaeological significance.
