Abstract: |
An archaeological excavation was undertaken at Kilbury Drive, Worcester, Worcestershire (NGR SO 87627 53659). It was undertaken on behalf of Bloor Homes in advance of a proposed residential development for which a planning application has been submitted. The aim of the archaeological excavation was to fully investigate the archaeological significance of a possible medieval or early post-medieval farmstead identified during an archaeological evaluation of the site. The excavation revealed four ditches, a row of postholes and a colluvial deposit. The majority of the artefacts recovered from the features dated to the 18th to 19th centuries. No settlement activity was identified on the site and all the features were probably associated with post-medieval enclosure and remodelling of the agricultural landscape during the 19th century. |
