Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 3 hectares of arable land. Evidence of ridge and furrow cultivation is the only feature of probable archaeological origin that has been identified, and suggests that the site has an agricultural past. A number of possible former pits may be of archaeological or natural origin. The remaining features are natural or modern in origin and include areas of natural variation, land drains, an area of scattered magnetic debris, magnetic disturbance from nearby ferrous objects and magnetic spikes that are likely to be modern rubbish. |
