Abstract: |
A series of test pits were excavated within the grounds of St Leonards School, St Andrews in advance of geotechnical site investigations. The work was undertaken under Scheduled Monument Consent. The remains of two substantial sandstone walls were discovered in two separate pits, sealed by topsoil and made ground deposits. Deeply stratified buried soil deposits were noted across the site indicating high archaeological potential in the area. No other archaeological remains were discovered. |
