Abstract: |
Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological watching brief during groundworks associated with the creation of a compound on land at Tolgus, Redruth, Cornwall. The watching brief recorded several ditches and two pits. Although undated artefactually, a small number of features was cut into the natural substrate and sealed by the subsoil, which might suggest that they are at least medieval/early post-medieval in date. Some of these earlier ditches match the alignments of the existing field system and are likely to represent former boundaries. The watching brief also recorded a small number of post-medieval/modern ditches, which are also likely to represent former boundaries. |
