Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on behalf of Robert Perrin of Perrin Property Partnership at 10 Cross Street, Tenbury Wells (NGR SO59462 68153; HER WSM66550) during the exaction of footing trenches for an extension to the existing building. A backfilled 19th century brick lined well was identified in the trench section, which cut into the natural clay to an indeterminate depth. No other archaeological remains were identified nor artefacts recovered. The ground level had been reduced by between 0.20m and 0.50m to natural deposits prior to the monitoring, which may have removed evidence of other activity. |
