Abstract: |
In 2012, Herefordshire Archaeology was commissioned by the Dinedor Heritage Group as part of the Dinedor Origins Project (funded by the Heritage Lottery). The project involved a series of separate investigations. The start of the investigations was a measured survey, to record the raised earthworks associated with the scheduled Site of the SMV of Dinedor. The survey resulted in the identification of multiple earthworks, terracing, clay extration pits, house platforms and other boundaries. A single platform that can be traced running into the graveyard extension of St Andrews Church appears to represent the site of a structure known as 'The Garrison' as implied by the 1840 Tithe Survey. |
