Abstract: |
Planning permission was granted by Dacorum Borough Council for a part two-storey, part ground floor extension to Wilton Cottage, River Hill, Flamstead. In accordance with National Planning Policy Framework, the County Council Historic Environment Unit recommended that a watching brief during construction groundworks should be carried out. The groundworks comprised the excavation of footings trenches up to 0.7m wide and up to 2.7m deep whose footprint covered an area of 6.2m x 6m. The watching brief on the groundworks revealed garden deposits, construction-related deposits and geological deposits. No features or remains of archaeological significance were revealed. |
