Abstract:
A geophysical survey was conducted in advance of a proposed pipeline development between Eccup and East Rigton. The work comprised of seven geophysical surveys in six fields. Anomalies indicated the presence of probable soil filled features, which have been identified in six of the survey areas. The majority appeared to be field boundaries, though some might have been of earlier origin. The curvilinear form of possible ditches in Area 3 may have indicated an enclosure ditch and associated features and one anomaly in Area 7 may have reflected a small ring ditch. Ferrous pipes were detected in two survey areas, one of which appeared to be associated with Rigton Reservoir. [Au(adp)]
