Abstract: |
The concrete floor of the forge was removed under archaeological supervision. Three trial trenches were then excavated across and adjacent to the site of the forge and any archaeological features were recorded. Several archaeological features we rerecorded on the site, the most notable of which was the original extent of the forge, the footings of the original hearth and a series of post holes probably associated with the original roof of the forge.
