Abstract:		 A proposed borrow pit area was investigated by excavation and recording of 44 trenches. Traces of enclosures and ditches identified on aerial photographs were found but could not be dated. An unexpected extensive industrial feature was sampled and interpreted as a brickworks of probable 17th century date. Numerous later field ditches were identified but not excavated. [Au]
