Abstract:		 The parish of Riseholm showed considerable evidence of a long history of human occupation dating from the Neolithic and Bronze Age periods. The former Roman road, Ermine Street, lay within 600 metres of the proposed development area and substantial medieval earthworks were also located in the vicinity. The results of the investigations indicated that in the immediate area of the proposed development little or no evidence for human occupation survived. [Au]
