Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation took place in advance of development. The town incorporated areas of earlier prehistoric settlement, although it was better known for its substantial Late Iron Age settlement and succeeding Romano-British small town and defended enclosure. Two trenches were excavated to assess the archaeological potential of the site. They revealed an Iron Age ditch and four Romano-British ditches, containing substantial quantities of dateable material. [Au(abr)] |
