Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	A building recording was undertaken prior to partial demolition and a watching brief prior to any intrusive groundwork. The buildings typified 18th to 19th century urban housing. Although the first and second floors retained their original layout, there were no original internal features and the staircase had been replaced. In each of the test pits, a series of 18th century ground layers were observed and recorded. No evidence of earlier buildings was present within the test pits. [Au(abr)]
