Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out in advance of a new residential development. The presence of protected species prevented access to the western half of the site, but in the northern half of the eastern area contained a series of gullies and ditches delineating rectilinear enclosures, as well as a series of pits. Artefacts dated this area to the Roman period, and it was interpreted as a farmstead. A singe prehistoric worked flint was also recovered. Later ridge and furrow was evident. A hollow way was noted in the western part of the site. [Au(adp)] |
